A little of this, a little of that....

I think I'm on some kind of a record.......I haven't posted in 10 days! Lately, that's an eternity for me. Not much has been going on at the Pew household! Just living up the summer days and still surviving the academy with David.
*
This is Kylee chowing down at the Mesquite Groves pool. Yep, we've been back there a couple more times since my first post about this amazing place!
*
Loving when she gets to spend some time with Daddy. Time is limited each day so she soaks up what she can get!
*
Hanging out with Cole quite a bit and doing what she loves.....coloring!

*
And lastely, David SPOILED his birthday present! He turns 30 next month and I ordered his birthday present early to make sure it would get here on time. The DMV said it would take 30 days for his plate to arrive, but it arrived 2 weeks early! I have been getting the mail everyday since I ordered it (and planned to get it everyday until I got his plate), but somehow I forgot yesterday and David went to get it. Well, YEP.......you guessed it!!! The ONE day he gets the mail, the plate is in there! DANG IT!!! RUINED RUINED RUINED! I was so mad. He had no idea either.
You like the plate!!! It's perfect......I mean "pewfect"! Hahaha! (the plate shines so bright with the flash that David got blacked out in the background)!
*
Nothing real exciting has happened lately.....just the small stuff. David is going into his 5th week of the academy tomorrow. He is really starting to enjoy it now and I'm starting to not hate it anymore! We have gotten into a good routine and things are running a lot more smoothly at home with our new schedules. Things are good and life is great!

Over and done with...

Well, the DREADED dental appointment is over and done with. Going off from a previous post, we were going to get Kylee's 9 cavities filled while under sedation. Little did I know that we were up for a few surprises......good and bad!
*
Here is my little Miss Sunshine right before we left the house. I told her to smile and show me how "happy" she was to be going to the dentist! This is what I got! I don't blame her!
*
Finally got a smile out of her on the way to the dentist. She had no idea what was up ahead of her! (Look at those pearly whites!!! How can they possibly be bad??)

*
She drank some "sleepy juice" when we got there and we sat around in this little room until it started to take affect. This is her playing in the little bed while waiting to fall asleep.

*
Didn't take long. Only about 30 minutes and she was out!

*
When the dentist finally got in her mouth, he discovered 6......count them SIX more cavities between all her bottom front teeth. This would make a total of 15 cavities. HOLY CRAP! I've never heard of a child, or an adult for that matter, having this many cavities. Apparently it isn't that uncommon though. At least that's what the dentist told me........I hope he wasn't just trying to make me feel better! But if he was, it helped! But I still feel like the worst Mom ever! Poor baby! She took the medicine like a champ! Even though he had to stay in her mouth longer, he didn't have to give her more medicine. She was semi-awake for the last part but just sat there and cooperated! That's my girl!
*
Here she is on the car ride home....(exhausted)

*
And still right now at this very moment, she is crashed on the lazy boy! I'm so glad this is over and done with! I was so worried!

*
The good news that came from all this was the fact that they didn't have to crown her back cavities like they originally thought. So the total came to $200 less than we had planned for! Woo hoo! But regardless of it being less, we still have practically met our maximum insurance for dental for the year because of this ONE visit! Children are expensive! Maybe that's why we can't currently have more children. We can't afford them!!!

Making some leeway...

It's been just over 2 months now that I've been collecting coupons and I still don't know if I'm doing this right, but it works for me from time to time! Hopefully one day it will get to the point where I'm saving like this (below) everytime I go to the grocery store. For now, it's about once a month! But it's a start right?!
*
Okay....so the picture below is from my trip to Albertson's this morning. I saw the amazing deals they were having and made my list. I then went to my coupons and matched quite a few up to the deals they were having. So here is my result....
All of this pre-coupon and pre-sale would have cost me $85.73. After all my coupons and sale buying, it came to $43.13. I saved $42.60! Woo hoo! I know this post is probably really boring to most of you but this is a big deal to me! I want my kids to look back on this and see what an amazing grocery saver their mother was! Oh and by the way....all that chicken is going to last me 8 dinners! I'm set for the month! (not that I'm only going to cook 8 meals - - - I have other meat too!)

This one is for you Higginson's!!!

My neices and nephews told me yesterday that they check my blog daily and when I haven't updated, they are disappointed. I already update more than anyone I know.......but apparently it's not enough for those daily checkers! Hahaha! So Higginson's.....this one is for you!
*
Yesterday was a BUSY BUSY day! It started out early by getting ready for 2 baptisms in our family (Hanna and Tom). Here Kylee is (stuck to Grandma's side) putting on makeup with her. She just LOVES her Grandma Deedee!

*
Then off to the baptism. Here Kylee is taking a picture with one of her most favorite people in the whole world.....Navy Grace!

*
Then we went to the Higginson's for some yummy food and swimming. Kylee hasn't swam in their pool since she's learned how to swim so she had a blast jumping off the rock wall and then swimming to the side.

*
This is where the pictures end but our day kept on going. We had a ward pool party after this so we went to that for a few hours and kept the swimming alive! Then Kylee and David went home and crashed in bed after an exhausting day. I, however, went off to a camp meeting with all the fun women leaders in our ward and had a fun 3 hours of craft-making for the girls. I can't wait for camp!

The best entertainment 50 cents can buy!!!

I'm finding a lot of really cheap, and free, ideas to keep Kylee busy this summer........but this "discovery" is BY FAR the best one yet! I looked online and found this amazing pool. It's actually called an "aquatic center" so I'll honor it's name because this BY FAR beats out any "pool" that I've been to. Hahaha!
*
Check this place out...
It has 2 giant water slides, a lazy river, a kids zone with slides and water games, a deep end pool with 2 diving boards, and a play area with a basketball hoop. It's amazing! The best part of it all is that it only cost me $2.00!! $1.50 per adult and $.50 per child. Sweet!!!
*
Here she is swimming under the water fall....

...and up successfully!

*
She loved turning this little lever and making the water spout shoot out water. Everytime a kid swam past it, she would turn it and drench them. It was hilarious!

*
Having a blast doing what she loves the most........playing in the water!

*
She loved this slide!

*
After a while, her cousins came to join her. She was so happy to have them there.

*
*
I highly recommend going to this place! It's on Val Vista and Riggs (right next to Basha High School). Word to the wise......bring cash! I had to pay by writing out a $2.00 check! LAME!

The best day!

Yesterday was one of the best days I've had in a long time. David started the academy this week and even though we had "warnings" and time to prepare for it, nothing could prepare us for how it was going to consume our lives! We've discovered that "husband and Daddy" are basically non-existent during the week. Don't get me wrong, I'm SO proud of David and I'm so glad that he is this involved and dedicated to what he's doing. I can't be happier with the ambitious and hard-working man that I have! But needless to say, I pray for the weekends to come faster and faster so I can have my man back!
*
Saturday was the best day ever! We got to spend the entire day together. Daddy was all Kylee's on Saturday. She wouldn't let go of his hand almost the entire day. We first went to the Bass Pro Shop at Riverview and took the tour around the entire place. It's HUGE! We then went to lunch and then to the movies. We saw Up. Cute movie!
*
Here is Kylee at the Bass Pro Shop...
*
Kylee had a fun time apparently...
*
But back to the "Daddy-daughter" day.......this is what Kylee was doing pretty much all day everywhere we went.
*
Nothing is sweeter than Daddy's little girl!

*
*
Like I said......during the day, Daddy was all Kylee's! But at night, it was our turn. We went on a fun double date with some friends in our ward and went to a YUMMY dinner at BJ's, then bowling, and then we topped it off with a delicious treat from Nielson's! It was the best way to finish off a wonderful day with my man!

Exhausted from the summer fun!

You know you're tired when.....

......you can't even stay awake to eat your most favorite thing in the whole world!!! Spending the day at a splash park ought-a do it!
