"I missed my mouth Daddy"

I was gone last night at a volleyball meeting (as always) and David and Kylee stayed home together. All of a sudden I get a phone call at about 8:30pm and the first words I hear are....."How do you get gum out of hair?" Oh great!!! Not my precious curls!!! No! I was thinking the worst. David didn't explain the details but he said that she had a big wad of gum in her hair and it wasn't in a place where he could just cut it out. I asked around and the best solution I was told was to ice it. So David did and eventually got it out without having to cut off those "sacred" curls! hahaha
-
I thought the conversation between David and Kylee was cute. This is how it went....according to David:
-
Kylee: "Daddy, I have gum in my hair"
David: "Well how did that happen"
Kylee: "I was trying to put it in my mouth and I accidentally put it in my hair instead"
-
Classic!! Gotta love it!

I of course told him to take pictures of it because this is definately a blog worthy event. After looking at the pictures, it wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting it to be. Judging by the last picture, Kylee thought it was hilarious! Her facial expression looks a little evil though........maybe she did this on purpose to freak Daddy out! Hahahaha! I wouldn't be surprised!
-
PS.....I still need Christmas lights if any of you have some to spare. Read post below and you'll know what I'm talking about! Thanks!

Just me venting...

The world is sleeping right now as it's 5 in the morning and I've been awake since 2am. I have nothing but time right now and it's amazing how much more time we would all have if our bodies could survive off of 2 hours of sleep each night. I get to experience what that time feels like tonight but I know what the repercussions are going to be all day today when I hit my slump at noon and I still have an energetic 3 year old rearing to go all day long. Needless to say, I can't sleep. I have a crazy sore throat that I know was brought on by stress. I don't need to go into the details about why I'm so stressed and why it's made my physically ill but I do want to ask a favor to you all in helping me relieve some of this stress.
I have found through personal experiences that nothing helps you get through struggles and trials more than serving others and taking that attention off of yourself. So with that, I am asking you to help me in this service by donating Christmas lights! Yes.....Christmas lights. My husband and I want to help out some less fortunate families we know by putting up some Christmas lights on their house (as a surprise of course). If any of you have extra Christmas lights hanging around, please let me know because we can't afford to buy lights at this time in our lives, but we really want to help out these families during the holidays. In turn, I know you will be blessed for helping us in this effort. Thank you in advance for doing this! Happy holidays everyone! It really is the happiest time of the year!! :)

My Free Photo Book...

I'm sure all of you have heard of the free photobook offer from Oprah and snapfish.com; Well......mine came in today! I finished it online about 3 days ago and it's already here!! I can't believe how fast, easy and extremely convenient it was. It turned out so cute! I made one for myself but now that I know how to make them, I will probably use this for gifts in the future. Here are some of the pictures from the book:

It only cost me $7.38 because all I had to pay for was shipping. The book normally would've cost me $24.99. I love a great deal! I love how companies are using this failing economy as an advantage and giving away free stuff! It's great! Thanks snapfish! :)

Fun...everyone do it!

I saw this fun tag on someone's blog and I wanted to do it and I want everyone that reads this to do it too! Here are the rules:
Go In your Picture Files, choose the 4th folder and 4th picture, then share 4 things about the photo:

1. This is Kylee
2. She is 1 year and 4 months old
3. She loved to sit in my empty bottom bathroom drawer (which is full of junk now)
4. She's so stinkin' cute!

The End of High School Ball...

Well, my Higley volleyball season is over. We ended losing last night in the first round of state. But the point is that we made it back to state! We went back-to-back years going to the state tournament. And to be honest, I graduated 6 starting Seniors last year so I wasn't too sure if we were gonna make it back. We struggled sometimes throughout the season but truly ended up beating the teams we should've beaten, and lost a couple hard matches to some good teams. Here is one of our team pictures that my sister took:
This is an action shot of my Senior captain, Jordan Brackett. She's taking this dig like a champ! She played amazing last night. She went out with a bang!!!

And this heart-breaking picture below is my Junior right side Shelby Welker. Notre Dame's outside hitter came under the net after she hit the ball and as Shelby was blocking, she came down on her opponents foot and jacked up her ankle. She ended up leaving the game and going to urgent care where they "diagnosed" her with a bad sprain. I will forever see her terrified face burned in my memory forever! Poor girl!

Prior to Shelby going down at last night's game, another one of my main players went down with an ankle sprain during practice on Monday. And about a month before that, another starter broke her hand. So we went into this state match without 3 of my best starting players. It has been a crazy season full of bad luck and crazy ups and downs, but it was all worth it in the end because they made it to state despite all the road blocks that were put in our way.
I must say that I'm very sad to have this season come to an end because of the fact that I'm "retiring" from High School volleyball for a while. I'm just getting too burnt out from coaching year round with club and school ball so I decided that this is going to be my last year coaching high school so that I can have a few months off during the year. I'm still running Club Arrowhead out here in the East Valley and also coaching the 17-1's. So I'm still coaching, but I'm cutting back on part of it so that I have a break in between seasons. I'm going to miss coaching at Higley because everyone at the school has been great and I LOVE the girls, but it's time to say good-bye for now. I will always be a Higley Knight at heart!!! Go Knights!!!!

Relieving news...

Kylee had her consultation with the specialist yesterday morning and after examining her, he came to the conclusion that this lump on her leg is nothing but a lipoma (which is a collection of fatty tissue). Apparently it's more common than not but most people get them in their stomach or buttox and never know they are there. Since Kylee's formed on her shin, it had nowhere to go but out, so it was visible to the human eye. Surgery isn't necessary and all I have to do is monitor it for the next couple months. The doctor said that it will most likely dissolve and go away. I'm so glad!!! Thank you for all your comforting words and prayers! It means a lot to have great friends who are there for me and my family!!

Connected at the hip...

Why is it that 10 years ago, cell phones weren't even used except by doctors and lawyers, and now we all have one and can't live without them!!! Well, today I had to live without my phone for the first time in my life and it was aweful! I thought someone stole my phone last night while at a volleyball meeting but it turns out that someone thought it was a calculator and put it in their box as they were cleaning up and leaving. It will be back in my hands tonight and I can hardly wait! I already knew that I was addicted to it and use it to the fullest, but since I've been without it, I realize just how obsessed I am with this phone!!! It's my life-line to the world and I can't live without it!!! Sad but true!

I love this little girl...

I just love my little princess Kylee girl. She is the light and joy of my everyday life...
I love how she always wants to be just like her Mommy. Being a Mom is so rewarding...

But it also is the hardest thing to do when you are put in situations like these...
Kylee has a strange lump on her right shin. Doctors took x-rays and ultrasounds of it and still can't figure out what it is...

So the only thing we can do is have it removed and biopsied to see what it is. I know with all my heart and soul that it isn't anything serious but I just hate that my sweet little angel has to go under the knife. I wish I could take her place!!! She is so strong and never complains about this thing. I know she is going to take this surgery like a champ!. I love you baby!!

Kylee's first pumpkin...

Yes it's sad but true! Kylee is 3 and this is only her first pumpkin for Halloween. We just never carved pumpkins or bought them when she was 1 or 2. But she loved it and thought it was great as I was carving it. It's the most BASIC pumpkin carving job ever but I have no artistic ability and to try and mix that "non-ability" with a sharp knife was scary! So I just stuck to the most basic pumpkin face there is! Hey.....Kylee thinks it's the best thing ever so in her eyes, I'm a genious!!!!

ARRRR!!!! Our little pirate girl...

Yesterday was our ward "trunk-or-treat" and Kylee finally got to wear her pirate costume. She's been begging me to wear it ever since I bought it a week ago. Here she is at home, all ready to go to the party...

I straightened her hair and sprayed it black. HUGE MISTAKE!!! That black crap got all over everything. She is having regular hair color on Halloween night. She looks clean and fresh in these pictures but by the end of the night, her forehead and cheeks were chalky black!

Here are some pictures of her and some of her friends in the ward. This is her and Londyn sitting in the back of our Explorer eating candy as we handed some out to the trick or treaters. Londyn was the prettiest Tinkerbelle ever!

Kylee and Londyn again...

Kylee and Patton....he was a cute little monkey!

Most of her pictures turned out like this one below. She couldn't smile normal this night for some reason. Crazy girl!!!

Happy Birthday Jaime!!!

You always hear that there is a reason why people come and go in our lives......well....Jaime is someone that I know came into my life for a reason. We met not even a year ago but I feel like we have been friends our entire lives. In relationship terms...."we hit it off" from the beginning! She is not only my closest friend in my life right now, but she is someone that will remain a life long friend forever. Today is her 30th birthday and I have to give her a shout out! (she might kill me for posting how old she is to the world - - hahaha). But Jaime, I just want you to know that you are such an amazing person and you affect everyone's lives that you come in contact with. I hope you have a great day today and I can't wait to take you to lunch!!! :)

PS.....I'm SOOO glad that we don't have to coach against each other again. That was too hard!

No Title.....Too Random!

I've been "collecting" pictures and haven't posted them yet so they are all being grouped together in one random post! To start out, David and I had date night on Friday with the Walkers. The picture quality is really bad because we all forgot our cameras and I had to use my camera phone to document our crazy night of fun!!! It started at In and Out Burger for dinner, then we headed over to Golf Land, and then back to the Walker's home for more games! Ya....we're crazy like that!
Here's some golf shots... (David is trying to pose in the backgroud and Nick is trying to stick his head around but he was too late getting in the shot!)
The cute Walker couple sitting in hole 10 in the big volcano!
The Pew couple being all Indian in front of the tent!

The losers had to go inside and play "Dance Dance Revolution". As you can see, those losers were Tanya and I! The boys CHEAT!!!!!
Everyone ended up taking a turn playing this STUPID game! Ya....I said it! It was horrible!

Here is Kylee being a big sister to Londyn. She is changing her diaper.......well.....attempting to! She did a good job! All I had to do was tighten the diaper after Kylee strapped it on. She did a good job! I'm very impressed! Hopefully she'll be able to practice on her real sisters soon!

And last but not least, last night I played in a faculty volleyball match. This was the 2nd year of doing this. The faculty of my High School (Higley) plays the faculty of our rival school (Williamsfield) for a fundraising night of fun! We won last year and guess what......WE WON AGAIN THIS YEAR! Wahoo!!! It was fun but I'm feeling it today! Sore, sore, sore!!! It was worth it though!! Go Knights!!!

"Dig Pink" Event for Breast Cancer

Yesterday at Williamsfield High School for our volleyball match, we all had a Susan G. Komen breast cancer awareness theme. It was titled "Dig Pink". We all made pink shirts that read......."Rivals on the Court......United in the Fight". It was really neat!! I have close family members to me that are breast cancer survivors and I also have a very close family friend and dearly loved one that lost her battle a little over a year ago. So this meant a lot to me as well as some of the girls on my teams who have mothers and loved ones who have battled with it as well. It's so common to know someone who has battled with this disease and it was so awesome to see all these young girls wearing pink to help in the cause. It was an amazing evening...........plus.........WE WON! Wahoo!!!
Here are the Freshmen warming up in their cute pink shirts!
Freshmen huddle before the big game!
Freshmen doing their little "cheer" before the big game!
Me and my JV coach Martie sitting on the bench, looking all cute in our pink shirts!

And here our the JV and Varsity girls waiting to cheer on the Freshmen for their big game!
I don't have any action shots of my JV or Varsity girls because I put my camera away after the Freshmen game and forgot to take it back out! I really wanted a big group shots of all the girls together in their pink shirts but I "blew it"!!! O'well! It was a great evening and one that I'm sure none of us will forget - - - - - mainly because my varsity team had a crazy match and barely won!!!! INTENSE!!! - - - GO KNIGHTS! (I always have to throw that in)

Friend Time

These past couple weekends have been great! I've had the opportunity to meet up with old friends and to hang out with the close friends that I've always had! Jodi is getting married next month so it brought a lot of us back together.
To start, Jami "Weinberg", Christina, Jodi and I all got together for some yummy lunch at Paradise Bakery over conference weekend. It was great to see Jami again after 7+ years!! Wow!
Jodi had her shower this past Friday so we all got together for that of course! Here she is getting the "goods"!!! Woo hoo!!! (I love Tausha's face in this picture) Hahaha
And here she is getting her new initial for her new last name! McGill baby!!! Ya!!!
And here she is in her true form! We love you Jodi!
Here is most of us! We are missing Heidi, Kimberly and Heather. I love friends!!!

And on Saturday, Jodi's finance (still weird to say that)....had his birthday barbeque at their new apartment. David and Kylee were the only ones to go swimming. Thanks for being a team player Daddy!!! :)
Here's the fun group!!! Christina, Tausha, me and Jodi!
Christina, Tausha and me..........FREEZING our booties off! It was so cold this night!
Me, Christina and Jodi! Not sure where Tausha was for this one!
And here is a big picture of all Jodi's close friends. We all came to support her and Jon in their last single party together! Happy birthday Jon!
